Good day premium Swift Humans.

You deserve an explanation regarding what's happened over the past few days 😔

I'm horrendous with money, so I have my finances set up such that 60% of what I make goes directly into a locked 2026 Swift Tuition fund. I use the remaining 40% for rent, uni fees, business, and day-to-day expenses. This has "forced" me to be frugal, but it has also made me try to cut corners-which sadly ended up costing me more than if I had just taken the "expensive" solution earlier.

I have two phones, and they have each broken down twice in different ways within the past 6-8 months. Most recently, around the 12th-15th, they both gave in. Since I was logged into my business emails on those devices, I couldn't even contact y'all to let you know what was happening.

To make matters worse, my business number was WhatsApp-only, and I had lost the SIM card for my personal number, so that was also out of the picture. Most conveniently, I was finally kicked out by WhatsApp Web, all within the same 24-hour window. My literal MEANS of communication were cut off.

To fix this, I’ve had to:

  • Get a new business number.
  • Get my Dad to travel from JHB to PMB to retrieve my personal number, have it sent via Postnet to Stellies, and then get him back to JHB.
  • Reset my email account on Zoho mail (the tech that allows me to use emails like admin@ or [email protected]).

Had I just bought a new phone from the get-go when the first problems arose, I wouldn't have had to spend so much (time and money) in the first place.

Sorry for the absence and the lack of communication.

We are back though! I'll spare you the details on what I've been working on in the backend, but I've made it pretty "fool-proof" so that we won't encounter these same issues in the future.

Regarding the groups:

I had previously made my sister an admin in some groups, and she has added me back in. However, I have to wait for my personal SIM card to arrive so that I can add my new business number to those groups. For any groups where I am NOT an admin, we’ll likely just have to make a new one.
